The Studio
Melanie Adams works in flowers the way a sculptor works in stone or a painter works in pigment — the material happens to be alive, which means every piece is already halfway to becoming something else. Her installations move through galleries, design studios, and private collections across Brooklyn and beyond; some are built to last an afternoon, others are pulled from fresh into dried and kept for years.
The Process
Every piece starts the same way a painting starts with a blank canvas — except the canvas is a room, a season, or a single found vessel. Melanie works fresh when a piece needs to move and breathe, and dried when it needs to last — often letting one become the other, so a work made for a single night keeps living long after the event is over.
Sourcing
She sources with the same instinct a collector might — vintage vessels found at estate sales, weathered vases that already have a history before a single stem goes in them — because the container is never just a container. It's part of the piece. Nothing is bought to match; everything is found, then built around.

Electric Lady Florals was born from a vision to create florals that feel like living art. Here, flowers become poetry in bloom, gemstones in petal form, and vessels of memory and joy.
